Various boring database notes

I’ve been adding lots of wrestlers to the database, and I want to think Robert Pasa for helping a lot with tracking down pictures.

Both the Wrestling Cards and the Events sections – now on the sidebar! – are supposed to be automatically updated every night while I’m sleeping. It’s not exactly happening yet, but that’s the general idea; I’m not rewriting them every day or anything crazy like that.

In case you were wondering, everyone who appears to be a regular gets a profile page, as does anyone who wrestles in Arena Mexico or in a non-dark Arena Coliseo match, or show up frequently on AAA or IWRG tapings, and anyone else who shows up a lot and can easily find a picture.

Most Appearances Without A Card Page:

Batman 48
Silver Star 46
Kid Tiger 41
Diluvio Negro I 40
Gato Volador 40
Black Jaguar 38
Vaquero Romo 38
Antaris 34
Venum 34
Diluvio Negro II 33

A lot of Monterrey area indy guys. The Diluvio Negro’s are really my comparison – they’re always main eventing the indy cards with just indy wrestlers and I don’t think that’ll ever change, so you must be more important than them to get on profile page of your own.

I’m going to start looking thru tape lists, but outside of what I find there, I think I’ve pretty much got every event I’m going to get for 2005. Before I go back any farther, I’d like to start doing similar lists of TV Episodes (and maybe even allow for comp tapes) – I figure most people would use the match finder to find out if/when Wrestler A and Wrestler B fought, and usually it’s because you want to see the TV episode it happened. That’d help.

Suggestions, corrections, ideas for the sprawling database are always appreciated.

I really ought to update that version page. Right after I update the thecubsfan.com page, ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
