GdR #5 and #6

Hey, double shot. I am so actually going to pull this off for once.

12/24: Opener was not so special, but that’s expected from the lineup. The main event was really fun – if you wanted to make a case that Atlantis would be #2 Rudo Of The Year with some #1 votes with updated TV, this is the match for you – and it’s definetly going into consideration for my Best Trios match vote.

01/07: The second match wasn’t as great (though still pretty good) and I think served as a nice start to the GdA/PdM hostilities. Opener is typical Coliseo.

Lucha Times Update

A long time ago, Galavision would preview this week’s shows on their website. In ’03, when they went into reruns, they seemed to stop doing it.

While chekcing on some other things, I ended on their site, noticed their preview is back, and that it’s for a different episode than I was projecting for this week.

As I mentioned previously, no one seemed to have a tape of this week’s projected show (except it did turn up on Samurai), and I guess that includes Galavision. According to the preview, they’re skipping ahead a week to the Leyenda de Azul tournament show, which also includes a tag team title match and the first of back to back Wagner/Atlantis matches.

Galavision would know a heck of a lot better than me, so expect that episode instead.

Today is the first day of the WWE Mexico tour. Tonight’s show in Mexico City has been sold out for a month. There’s no last minute update in lineup, but with this crew, I’m sure they’ll be some changes (which is why it’s not in the event listings; don’t feel like redoing it) – based on what was taped for SmackDown, there will be at least one minor adjustment.

Ovaciones has a story about the WWE show, a quick word with Damian about Friday’s Arena Mexico show (he’s not happy with GdA and promises revenge) and IWRG and Neza lineups. The IWRG preview mentions the big 8 man cage main event but does not say hair or mask is on the line, so I’m guessing it actually is not – you’re just getting a lot of blood.

No Halcon magazine this week, at least yet.

Voting is now open for the 2005 Tapatia awards: ballot, more information, discussion – the links are on the side bar as well, and there’s a discussion thread on DVDVR.

Robert’s bugging me about what Best Wrestler means, and I’m trying to be evasive because I want people to come up for their own definitions. Which isn’t actually too helpful. All I can say is I’ve always prefered doing these type of sports awards Most Outstanding Particpant over Most Valuable Particpant, and that’s the way I’m going to use my vote.
