AAA - 03/19/04
This is the Guerra de Titanes. Borrowing correct spellings of names from KrisZ.
Match 1: Polvo de Estrellas, May Flowers vs Poncho
de Nigris in a double hair/hair match
Toreo de Cuatro Caminos de Naucalpan, 12/05/04
Winner: Poncho de Nigris
Match Time: 6:34
Other Match Notes: Poncho doesn't appear to have a partner, and it doesn't appear to be a triangle match. Octagon is watching from the crowd. A big fat guy in a pink football jersey shows up when Nigris is getting beatdown two on one, but stands around watching. La Tigresa ends up grabbing hair from her seat next to Octagon at one point. May gets a chair, but then wants to kiss instead, but then kisses Polvo by accident and whatever. When the fat guy comes in to give a second rope splash, and the referee low blow kicks May in revenge for an earlier one, I wonder why I'm watching AAA. Some random guy from the outside counts the pin, which I guess is good enough, and the fat guy takes off his shirt, which is not good. Octagon looks bored. No one seemed to lose their hair here.
Then there's whole segment of replays
Then there's whole segment of Gaby Ramirez (not a wrestler?) being named Queen of AAA or some such.
Then we come back to the main event people already in the ring.
Match 2: Konnan and Rikishi vs La
Parka and Cibernetico
Toreo de Cuatro Caminos de Naucalpan, 12/05/04
Winner: No Contest? Sure.
Match Time: 7ish
Other Match Notes: I would've loved to hear the reaction to Konnan on
entrance. Konnan is actually only wearing wrestling gear here, so weird. Konnan
and Parka get along to start. Doesn't work as well with their partners. This is
supposed to be "AAA & LLL to fight against the evilest of evils -
foreigners and Konnan", but unfortunately, Cibernetico quickly remembers
he's into evil and turns. The slightly redeeming part is how he doesn't even
waste time doing it - he just takes the tag, steps in the ring, and axhandles
Parka before he can get out. Konnan teases he's going to save Parka, but is kept
out. Parka manages to escape the double team, and Konnan comes into help him
with Rikishi - and turns on Parka too. It seems like the referee wants to raise
Parka's arm for the win here, but never does. Beatdown on Parka with no one
saving him for quite a while. Rudos are in no hurry and keep looking at the
entrance way like they're expecting someone to show up. No one does. Stinkface.
Before he can add the Rump Shaker, Octagon jumps in from the crowd for the save.
Parka rallies, but gets stopped by a bad looking thrust kick. Rikishi adds a low
blow headbutt, and that's a DQ. I can't believe the match was still going.
Rikishi gets that Rump Shaker before Octagon can pull La Parka to safety. Only
now does the AAA locker room and Pena show up, stopping to pose on he stage
before yelling at Konnan from outside the ring. Just as AAA decides to storm the
ring, we get a view of the crowd, and back in time to see the rudos standing in
the aisle. Of all the tecnicos, it's Pena who cuts a promo on the rudos.
Cibernetico responds. Lots and lots of talking.
Break. Replays. Interview about what happened with Octagon and La Parka is interrupted by Abismo Negro and his spray can of evil. More people show up from both sides, and a brawl breaks out at the interview set. Some guy with LLL but maskless (and perhaps just a stuntman) gets completely lit on fire by Abismo, head to toe. He walks around for a couple steps before he runs into the interview set to try and smother the flames - some guys with covers (ready for the spot?) do a better job but he's still burning for a while. Abismo tries again, but drops the can for the second time in the fight. Flame Guy is strechered out. Abismo gets run out of the interview area as the flame guy immediately gets taken away by ambulance. Announcers summarize and we're out.
