Ovaciones does quite a few Year In Review articles today:

CMLL’s year:
Spotlight: Mistico shone the greatest, winning the NWA Middleweight Title on the first night of the year, befriending futbol players, and main eventing tons of arenas with big singles wins and great partners.
Scare: Olimpico’s tope gone very wrong.
Surprise: Lots of them, but Perro Aguayo Senior coming back for one more last match ever.
New Faces: Canek Jr. and Texano Jr. (supposedly much better after the NJPW tour – I guess we’ll find out next April.)
Style Changes: Wagner and Atlantis flipping sides – and not doing the mask match.
Events: Universo 2000 vs Hector as the main event of the anniversary show, and Atlantis beating Santo for the Leyenda de Plata
Ladies: Dark Angel, Diana, and Marcela were very popular.
End Of Year: Averno & Mephisto retaining the tag titles, and Mistico beating Atlantis last weekend.

AAA
Spotlight: International tours – to Japan and Central America as a tour, with Abismo Negro and Oriental doing their own tours of Japan.
Returns: Vampiro, Konnan, Nicho, and Fuerza Guerrero
Shocker and his Guapo U: off to a good start, with a win over Sangre Chicana. Opposition groups may be forming.

Lucha Times

Sorry for the lateness. I’ve got about six weeks of work left to do this year, and it’s not quite fitting.

Saturday: Mistico puts his mask on the line (spoiler: Mistico does not lose his mask!) Expect edits. Also, celebrate the holiday season with even more Groon. Good show to scan thru.

Sunday: Maybe Perro Aguayo vs Mistico. Maybe AAA. This could be a brutal twist of fate for someone who has no life on New Year’s Day. (I’m good, thanks for asking.)

GdR: Okay, the Yahoo listings say it’s not on, pre-empted all weekend by a tennis tournament. (I miss futbol.) However, listings on CAN52MX say it’ll air, at least on Saturday. I’d go check my Comcast listings, but I like this episode of Futurama. Let me wait till the break.

Comcast says “Guerreros del Ring LLL” will air on Saturday, so I’m throwing in a tape. If there’s an episode, I’m betting it’ll include the Atlantis/Mistico match from this past week.
