Tarzan Boy vs Hector Garza is the special hidden main event of this week’s Sunday Arena Coliseo show. So I guess they’re broken up? I find it highly disturbing that matches they don’t announce till late in the week are far more interesting than the probable main event of the year end show.

There’s going to be a internet lucha fan convention at Juan Favila de Isurgenetes Gym on 12/17. I don’t think I’ll be able to make it. Main event is Crazy Boy & Kung Fu Jr. vs Black Terry & Shu el Guerrero.

Chessman has opened his own gym in Villa Nicolas Romero.

Ovaciones says they’re building up a Sangre Chicana vs Shocker feud.

NJPW has announced Sangre Azteca will a portion of it’s next tour, from 12/3 (so no year end show participation) to 12/11 (8 shows, 4 tapings.) Joining him will be Safari, which is odd for a number of reasons, but mostly because he may not be Safari in Mexico anymore.

Maybe all my guesses about how guys were being picked were actually wrong, and the true key is your name starting with the letter S. I look forward to Sagrado, Satanico, Scorpio, Stuka Jr, Super Comando and Santo all going to Japan in the next year.

IWRG lists the second member of the challengers as “Jedo”, as if Jado and Gedo were combined together as some unstoppable juggernaut. They were stopped here, so I think it’s just at typo.

Wagner low blowed Canek. Canek wanted a title shot post match – any title, really.

There’s no lucha content listed for Ovaciones today. There’s heavy coverage of a U17 Mens and U20 womens split squad Mexico vs Mexico games, which I believe were held as a charity events to benefit Hurricane victims. In the Women’s game, some woman wore a Atlantis mask in their post-goal celebration.

I figure that they did say something about Eddie, but it’s just not on the website. Accion had a brief mention of him last night. (The highlights from Accion were the finish from LdP, and an AAA six man with no particular angle.)

There are many articles about Eddie’s death on Spanish language sites, though most are just picking up the AP story. If you haven’t read it elsewhere, they’ll be having tribute shows to him on both RAW and SmackDown this week, and it sounds like the European tour (scheduled to start tomorrow) will be pushed back to allow wrestlers to attend the funeral. I expect there will be tributes to him on about every show in Mexico this week.

In addition to everything else that’s going on, controlling interest in New Japan Pro Wrestling was sold by Inoki to video game company Yukes. It’ll be a while before we know how this affects the CMLL/NJPW relationship.

Eddie Guerrero passes away

Eddy Eddie Guerrero, 38, passed away last night. He was in Minneapolis for a double RAW/SD! taping tonight, and found dead this morning in his hotel room.

Ovaciones confirms what KrisZ had earlier – it’s Halloween vs Universo in a hair match. I’d say something about that, but since I don’t use profanity, I don’t really have any adquete words. The storyline is, post Damian taking the Tombstone, Universo challenged Perro to the hair match (which I wouldn’t have minded) but Halloween stole the match for himself.

I’m sure they’ll add a half-decent semimain and I’m even more sure I shouldn’t stay up to 3 reading when I can’t get to sleep.

In much cooler news, the bonus unlisted Sunday Arena Coliseo main is Perro vs Ultimo. Why don’t they list these things? You’d think THAT MATCH might sell some tickets, you know?

Someone remind me to put together a list of CMLL Big Show mains/co-main matches from the last few years at some point.
