– 4 page review/pictures of TNA Bound For Glory. There was a bit in the Observer this week, about TNA trying to continue to book Samoa Joe versus International Stars for the next PPV (and maybe as a continuing thing.) They tried Ultimo Dragon and ROH/UK wrestler Nigel McGuiness, but neither were available at that time. Jeff Jarrett suggested Abismo Negro, but that idea was rejected. Too bad, because I never loved Jarrett more than suggesting Abismo vs Samoa. (They’re going in a different direction for the match instead.)
– Part two of the interview with O’Campo. When he saw Dark Angel for the first time, he knew she was the women who could start a Women’s Wrestling boom in Mexico. He passed around photos and a DVD of her while in Japan last December, and it eventually got to the AtoZ promoter, which is how she made it there – Ernesto wants it clear that it wasn’t CMLL or fans pretending to be her manager who got her this booking. Interviewer asks about any relationship between O’Campo and Dark Angel, and O’Campo says it’s the responsibility of a good lucha journalism to push for deserving people who aren’t getting enough attention, as he has with Super Crazy, Crazy Boy, and Ricky Marvin. He specifically takes credit for turning Damian’s image from a semi-comedic wrestler to a Extreme Icon by publicizing his FMW-style work in XLAW. O’Campo also basically says he highlighted her in magazines, because he felt the more she was seen, the more magazines she’s be worth next time she was on the cover, and there’s no other relationship going on.

(I disagree with all of this on so many levels, but I think it’s a bit of a snow job to begin with, so I don’t care much about voicing it.)

O’Campo doesn’t like Luchas 2000 (they fake the interviews, sometimes getting the wrestlers in trouble for their fake words), Box Y Lucha is okay but he no longer buys it, and Guerreros del Ring has no content. He brushes off ‘purists’ complaints that new guys aren’t as good as the old guys, because he’s gone back to articles from years ago, and read people complaining that these old guys weren’t as good as the older guys.
– Arena Mexico results
– Jeque interview. If you ever wanted a good picture of the Star of David on his mask, this is the interview for you. He says he worked under other names, but does not mention them. He was thinking about calling himself Rey Jeque, but figured it’d be redundant.
– Notes. AAA is headed to Honduras on 12/1 for a show. Atlantis is still wrestling tecnico in some places.
Starman poster
– short El Hijo Santo bio
– Rankings! Danger, not rated anywhere before, is actually 8th in Lightweight, and 9th in Welterweight. How odd. Anyway, Mistico was wrestler of the month, and I’ll have more as soon as I figure out what I did last month.
– More people who lost their masks.
