They’re celebrating in the streets of Mexico City, for Sangre Azteca has won a match in New Japan!!! He beat Akiya Anazwa earlier today via a reverse armbar in 5:47. Starman lost on the show, which is actually an improvement from being left off the card as he has the last few shows.
CMLL (FRI) 10/28 Arena Mexico Results [cmll]
1) Bam Bam & Ultimo Dragoncito b Mini Violencia & Sombria
2) Sagrado, Virus, Metro b Dr. X, Mr. Mexico, Loco Max
3) Jado, Okumura, Loco Max b Heavy Metal, Felino, Maximo vs
4) Hijo del Santo won Block A of the 2005 Leyenda de Plata tournament. Order of Elimination:
– Hombre Sin Nombre
Thanks for coming.
– La Mascara by Jado
Stretchered out.
– Volador Jr.
– Misterioso II
– Jado
– Averno
– Negro Casas
Negro and Santo both were pinned when one applied a tapatia and leaned back, but the commission restarted the match so we’d have a winner. Santo got a camel clutch for the win. Atlantis is almost certainly winning this Friday.
5) Universo 2000, Ultimo Guerrero, Rey Bucanero DQ Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Hector Garza, Terrible
Damian and Halloween helped attack the other team. Two straight brawls for falls – Universo took the first with a surpirse small package on Perro, and rudos got DQed in the second. Universo, Ultimo and Rey were left laying. Looks as if they’ve set up the main feud to be GdA & Capos & Pierroth vs Perros. No idea on Tarzan.
CMLL (SUN) 10/30 Arena Coliseo Lineup [box y lucha]
1) Sombra de Plata & Rayo Tapatio I b Polvora & Vaquero
2) Flecha, Jeque, Guerrero del Futuro b Neutron, Kronos, Trueno
3) Virus, Brazo de Oro, Crazzy Boy b Mr. Mexico, Hooligan, Apocalipsis
Ovaciones liked the antics of Crazzy Boy
4) Olimpico, Averno, Mephisto b Lizmark, Felino, Safari
Ovaciones said the tecnico team made “many errors.”
5) Dos Caras Jr., Hijo de Lizmark, Black Warrior b Atlantis, Ultimo Guerrero, Halloween
As might be reasonable, Atlantis and Ultimo didn’t want to team with Halloween. The rudos managed to keep it together for a fall, but eventually it was Halloween who turned on the other two, helping the tecnicos win.
There was an interview with Crazzy Boy in Saturday’s Ovaciones. He’s been training with Satanico in hopes of being a more solid wrestler; trying to fit his style in CMLL’s context. He really hopes to get on an Arena Mexico card.
CMLL.com says the last Arena Mexico show of the year will either be 12/02 or 12/09, which is a week or two earlier than typical. They don’t hint as towards a main event (which means they probably don’t know), but I’m betting they shoot the angle on the 11/11 show either from the LdP final (probably Atlantis b Santo) or something elsewhere on the card.
They’re apparently running the Arkangel/Fantastik feud Ark alluded to last week on the Arena Neza shows. Wish we were still getting lineups or results from there.
Today’s Monday afternoon (2PM CSTish) Box Y Lucha chat is with Mascara Sagrada. I have nothing funny or interesting to say to him.
I feel like I’m forgetting something, but oh well.

In the Caida Extra they talk about WWE coming to Mexico. I heard McMachon will be running three shows in luchaland during january.
The Ovaciones report can often by screwy as evidenced this week. Mascara didn’t get stretchered, Averno did via a belly-to-belly off the top from Santo. Also, Hombre Sin Nombre is most definitely Safari. He was probably written out this Sunday when he and his team had problems and argued after the match = “many errors”.
CMLL.com videos tell the entire story and have a neat double team move by Los Guerreros!
