In today’s Ovaciones, Perro Aguayo promises more members. Ovaciones does not list Terrible or Tarzan Boy among the current group, interestingly. Perro wants to win hairs and championships, but doesn’t mention any specific ones, and generally to take over all of CMLL.
Ovaciones also slips in that NJPW’s Jado and Gedo will be in Mexico, starting 10/21 and staying for five weeks (so around 11/25).
Box Y Lucha #2734 is up. Inside:
– Poster of Dr. Wagner, Mistico, Groon XXX and Ultimo.
– Mr. Aguila talks about his return to CMLL. He emphasizes that he finished his contract with AAA and was a free agent. He’s back for revenge on Ultimo.
– More details about the car accident which killed Pantera’s son.
– Interview with Santo. He’s been very impressed with his “godson” Mistico, but he’s not going to allow rudos to take advantage of him any more.
– Atlantis assures us that his team isn’t scared of the tecnicos, and they’re going to quiet them for good this week.
– Mistico’s ready for them. Mistico’s ready for a tag team mask/mask match if anyone wants it.
– Dr. Wagner laughs in the face of the Atlantis/Ultimo pair.
– rudo Referee Moises “Mixteco” Nicolas, 65, died this past week. He actually passed at the close of a match; after counting the final pin of a mask/mask match between King Dragon and Mr. Fuego in Arena Lacon (Reyes La Paz, Mexico State – small arena), he simply never got up. It’s not clear if there was a doctor at the show – one article says no, another interview with the promoter says the doctor was moving his car at the close of the match and just not at ringside. The promoter did not see any signs something was wrong.
Mixteco started wrestling in 1972, and switched to refereeing in 1990 after injuries.
There’s no full results, but a post on the Box Y Lucha board says La Mascara did retain his CMLL Welterweight Championship over Misterioso in Puebla last night.
Comment answers:
Familia de Tijuana are tecnicos in Tijuana. Or, if not actual tecnicos, at least the relative good guys.
I didn’t see Taguchi’s name in any lineup I saw, so he’s at the very least taking the week off, and I would guess he went home but don’t haven’t read that specifically.
My guess is the Rey/Ultimo break up is a lot like Mascara Magica. Maybe you do a match (and loss) to Mistco as a setup, but Ultimo, Atlantis and Olimpico just turn on him after one too many losses, and next week he’s hanging out with Wagner and Mistico.

That looks like a Mr. Wrestling II tribute mask on Wagner there.
It’s supposed to be in the model of his father’s mask, but with his own style on it.
Jado & Gedo will get monster rudo heat in Mexico, mark my words. :)
