Upcoming ELLMEX shows

Remember how I mentioned there was a Lucha Va Voom this Friday? Let’s pretend I never said that. There was a post on the socal boards saying FMLL is coming on October 24, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Speaking of seeing it!

09/25/05 ELLMEX poster

ELLMEX (SUN) 09/25 Las Lomas, Waukegan Lineup [poster!]
Thanks to Rob for the poster!
1) Rayo Lazer vs El Reo
2) Horoscopo vs Mascara de Jade
3) SWAT Cat & Lanza Llamas vs Yakuza & Mini Charly Manson
no, I don’t think this is the CMLL one
4) Atomo & Mascara Universal vs Halcon Oriental & Tyme Page
5) Principe Franky & Amenaza del Siglo vs el Infernal & Principe Azteca

The full address is 454 N. Green Bay Road, Waukegan, IL. Tickets are listed as $15 ($10) for kids with a 5PM start time.

I dunno if I’m going. It’s a long drive after two nights of TPI; rolling out of bed along might be a strain. Or maybe I’ll be so thrilled with wrestling I’ll have to drive 90 minutes to see more the next day.

This post says they’re also running a show THIS Sunday with Mascarita Sagrada, Mini Charlie Manson and perhaps Espectrito, but I have no cool poster.

This has nothing to do with anything, but I wish they’d put in the 355 extension already.

Lucha Times

I haven’t even looked at the recording from last week yet. Hope I’m not screwing things up.

Saturday: Big time shift because of a lot of futbol (including an U17 World Cup USA/North Korea game). Most of you will get the show before noon, while the west coast feed delays it till 6pm. Late night replay should be okay.

As for actual matches, you’ve got the debut of Stuka Jr (among others) and the last CMLL appearance of Shocker for the time being. Main event is another chapter in the FdT/Casas battle.

Sunday: Updated – Checked the tape, and they skipped an episode last week. This week should be the Averno/Mistico match.

09/15 news

CMLL (TUE) 09/13 Arena Aficon, Pachuca, Hidalgo Results [ova]
1) Apid & Medic’s I b Chico Chey & Despiadado
2) Blade & Mensajero de la Muerte Titan b Braulio Flores & Super Bolido
3) Sagrado & Safari b Arkangel & Skandalo
4) Pierroth, Pierorth Jr., Hijo de Pierroth DQ Heavy Metal, Negro Casas, Felino
Pierroth low blowed Felino to save a clean loss.

The other Ovaciones is a day early Arena Mexico preview (I’m guessing tomorrow’s preview focuses exclusively on the main event – maybe words from Universo?). Sangre Azteca’s inclusion is mentioned as a definite chance to establish himself as a bigger star, which is why it’s funny it’s taking place in the second match.

Halcon #26 is up. Inside
– An interview with Mil Mascaras. Instead of having the normal top banner of nine different luchadores, this week, it’s all Mil Mascaras masks. In addition to a typical training regime, Mil recommends you read three to four hours a day to strength your mind. Mil goes on the Internet, to read news from all over the world.
– An interview with Starman, where he talks about why he’s using that name instead of Ultraman Jr.
– A look back at the Destroyer.

CMLL (TUE) 09/06 Arena Queretaro Lineup [halcon]
1) Halcon Blanco b Dance Boy
2) Starman & Neutron b Drabek I & Drabek II
3) Dark Angel b Princesa Sujei
This was supposed to be a tag with India Sioux and Amapola, but neither are mentioned.
4) Crazy Boy & Volador Jr. vs Apocalipsis & Arkangel
This was a money match, though the reviewer felt Crazy Boy didn’t fit CMLL’s style.
5) Hector Garza & Averno b Místico Atlantis & Dr. Wagner Jr.
Someone did a fantastic Hector Garza poster. The Wagner/Atlantis team worked as well as you’d expect in the third fall. By the end of the match, Averno was convinced Atlantis was now on his team.

There’s also a small show in Monterrey covered, with the most interesting thing by far being a picture of one of the finishes (I think.) The PAR results don’t have anyone interesting this week, but they also have a nice finish photo.
