Qualifying G1 Block B Winner

Early reports have Texano Jr. advancing, with Nitro as the final guy remaining. Pretty surprising finish; they seem to be high on Texano, but he didn’t have any particular momentuem.

And I’m not exactly sure it was the plan. If you read that report, it sounds likes Dr. X hurt his neck during the course of the match and was taken from the ring. Since most were picking him as the winner (based on his rivalary with La Mascara), I wonder if things were changed on the fly.

More tommorow; elsewhere, it reads like they might being doing Pierroth/Garza in a hair/hair match for the anniversary show, but let’s see how offical that is when other reports come out.

Order of Championships

I’m ranking them this way (greatest to least)

Open Weight 1 (for promotions which might have both a heavyweight and an open weight promotion title)
Heavyweight
Open Weight 2 (your IC-ish titles)
Open Weight 3 (in case you have 2)
Cruiserweight (non existant in Mexico)
Open Weight 4 (TV/Euro)
Light Heavyweight
Middleweight
Welterweight
Super Lightweight
Tag Team
Trios
Atomicos
Minis
Women
Mascot Tag
Mixed Tag
Women Tag Team

Order of Promotions

Universal (if the old NWA Title existed, it’d be here.)
Promotion
Dead Promotion (UWA, WWA, I’m thinking the NWA Mexico Titles belong here, but I’m willing to be convinced otherwise.)
National
Local (everything else)

08/05 news

CMLL (THU) 08/04 Pachuca, Hidalgo Results [ova]
1) Concord & Colmillo Blanco b The Medics & HidroMan
2) Sexy Dany & Saiko b Princpe & Valiente
3) Nitro & Misterioso II b Black Leon & La Mascara
Nitro wants a shot at the Mex WELTER belt. If Misterioso is going to work rudo on the satellite shows, he needs to punk out Mistico in Arena Mexico to cement it (and get me a good match.)
4) Dr. Wagner & Mistico b Rey Bucanero & Ultimo Guerrero Hector Garza

This actually not the show I listed as running that tag match this day; that was Arena Isabel in Cuernavaca, Morelos, which is more than 100 miles on the other side of Mexico City. Double shots must suck.

Elsewhere in Ovaciones, Pierroth is questioned about FdT teaming with him, and basically responds with “I don’t get it either, but I’m sure they’ll be professional – and if they’re not, I’ll take all of ’em down.”

There should be updates this weekend.

on the wiki

Here’s the deal with the wiki, concisely.

1) I see a need for such a thing. Like the reason I do most everything else, the info isn’t out there, or at least to the level I think is useful.

2) Part of the reason I’m doing these sorta of things is to have a project to learn programming junk; typing stuff into wiki doesn’t achieve that goal

3) The wiki setup is completely separate from the rest of the site; there’s no easy way to integrate the script I’ve got running the roster with the wiki info, so I’d have to do a lot of copy and pasting to make it worthwhile

4) HOWEVER, if I could find a way to integrate my scripts and wiki, that would definitely be a project to learn programming junk.

5) I just don’t know if it’s a reasonable one.

6) If I’m just copying things over from one site to another, I’m kinda defeating the point.

7) Another thought is, if there really was a desire for such a thing, it’d be done already. Or at least in progress being done. There’s some of this work already being done on Wikipedia, but it’s one guy doing a lot of heavy lifting by himself. I don’t feel this is as much a technical barrier as a interest one.

8) I’m willing to be wrong. Anyone who wants to go ahead and add their own pages may feel free to. You can find more info about creating wiki pages here.

9) That flower’s going as soon as I can get to it.
