What was the story behind Jake the Snake being at the Konnan vs Cien Caras match and costing Konnan his hair?
From what I remember it was Jake’s debut and was a pretty fun angle. To open the show(TV special) they polled the wrestlers on who would win between Konnan and Cien. Tecnicos picked Konnan, rudos picked Cien. Then as the announcers were doing their opening segment showing some presents people were sending for Konnan incase he had to retire(this is where I might be wrong), one of the announcers pulled out a black glove like Jake used to wear at the time. Later in the show the match aired and Jake made his AAA debut by costing Konnan the match. The retirement lasted a few months.

Which totally killed the gimmick in mexico. Anyways, That Perro vs Ano match was awesome. First time I’ve seen that and the konnan vs Cien match. Wonder how much crack they had to give jake to make him appear?
As I said in an earlier thread, I’d watch AAA if they included a “classic” match every week.
Well it did kill the gimmick, that’s for sure. Everyone was worried when Konnan returned, people would turn on AAA and the fed would die but it only got stronger. In the long run this was bad b/c it convinced Pena that he could ripoff the fans any time he wanted and they would always come back.

Is Oscar Sevillia really angel? That shocks me.
