CMLL (FRI) Arena Mexico 04/08 Results
1) Tigre Blanco & Tigre Metalico b Super Comando & Artillero
There’s thought to make the logical team a more permanent one.
2) Virus b Loco Max [lightining match]
For the talk on Friday in Ovaciones about Loco Max getting a big push, the Saturday talk was about how easily he got squashed
3) Okumura, Taguchi & Masada b Satanico, Zumbido & Alan Stone
4) CMLL defeated Guerreros in 10 man cibernetico, La Mascara pinning Dr. X to win.
As best I can make out, the angle has Satanico essentially taking over Shocker’s role as Leader of the Guerrero opposition – this group, and others arrangments to follow, are guys he’s trained (so are most of the young guys) and they’re continuing on his feud with Rey, Ultimo and Tarzan as proxies. We may also be supposed to thinking of the Guerreros as a indepdent unit from CMLL, but I’m not sure, and also not sure what difference it makes. There’s a related match Tuesday night, with the idea this will be a ongoing bit.
Spinning off the finish, La Mascara challenged Dr. X to a Mexican National Welterweight Championship match. I don’t like Dr. X’s chances of reminding double champion if/when that match happens.
5) Universo 2000, Rey Bucanero & Ultimo Guerrero DQ Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Canek & Canek Jr.
Ovaciones though Canek Jr. was fair here. O’Campo went as far to say Canek Sr. looked inspired by wrestling with his son. As foreshadowed last week, Blue Demon Jr. got himself some revenge on Universo 2000, costing Perro’s team the match but perhaps setting up a faction with them.
6) Damian 666, Halloween, Pierroth DQ Dr. Wagner, Mistico & Negro Casas
Set up to next week’s match: Damian used the stick on Wagner, Negro got the stick and used it on Damian, the referee only caught Negro.
No word on Sunday results yet.
CMLL (TUE) Arena Coliseo 04/12 Lineup
1) Bam Bam/Shockercito vs Pequeno Violencia/Fire
2) Ultimo Vamprio/Tigre Metalico/Explosivo vs Mesalsa/Ramstein/Veloz
3) Stuka/Fantasy/Chamaco Valaguez Jr. vs Hooligan/Koreano/Arkangel
Stuka and Valaguez, considered part of CMLL vs Guerreros battle, are both sons of wrestlers making CMLL debuts. I presume it’s techinally Stuka II and not the older one who had to be in CMLL at some point. La Arena has a promo of Valguez Sr. as well.
4) Satanico/Safari/Alan vs Hijo de Pierroth/Taguchi/Okumura
5) Atlantis/Dos Caras Jr./Warrior vs Ultimo/Rey/Tarzan

4) Shocker/Wagner/Mistico vs Pierroth/Averno/Mephisto

Kinda underwhelming main event for the big Casas family reunion.

Covers:
Super Lucha – all about WM21
Box Y Lucha – Negro Casas’ 25th. The inside poster has shots of Negro from over the years. It appears the whole magazine is dedicated to him, including an interview with el Hijo del Santo.
The big story in Ovaciones is Nicho demanding an immediate one on one match with Psicosis. Given Nicho’s quickly approaching change of companies, I think he might get his wish and wish he didn’t.
