lucha times

Split feed this week for both shows. Saturday, the show would seem to feature two important matches – double hair undercard, trios title match. It’s on 3p for most people, at 5p for those who get the pacific feed.

Behind on watching, so I’ve got no idea what will air Sunday, but I do know it’ll have a 2p/4p split.

via Ovaciones:

Mascara Sagrada (original) is only scheduled in for this week’s 02/04 (FRI) show. He wimped out of choosing who’s going to win La Copa Jr, though. The article says he’s currently the WCW Heavyweight Champion (please don’t tell Triple H.)

Dr. Wagner defends the UWA Heavyweight Title versus Canek Thursday in Arena Naucalpan.

Familia de Tijuana are coming back in Mexico City in March.

They haven’t been in at all since 10/03. Nicho no showed a scheduled Mexican Trios Title Defense to take a better paying show elsewhere on 06/06/03, and they were mad at him for a while. Not sure who of the group is coming in, but I hope he gets another shot.

Atlantis’ Children Day (children who bring toys for needy children get in free, adults get a discount) will be 04/30.

Ricky Marvin’s next trip back from Japan will start 04/25.

Negro Casas will have a tour of shows in celebration of his 25th year of wrestling.

There was an article about the Santo cartoon from Cartoon Network Mexico. The translating wasn’t smooth, and I couldn’t tell if Santo was happy with it or saw it as another unauthorized misuse of his name

Heir of the legend that took to the free fight of cinematographic Ring sets, “the Son of Santo” requests, pleads, to stop being other people’s earth prophet, to be able to be it in the own one.

“It is sad that Cartoon Network is interested in the concept of Santo and who televising Mexican they do not give importance him and they worry to spread his history”, it commented the second in the dynasty of the legendary, mythical personage, initiated by his father Rodolfo Guzmán in 1942.

To 43 years of the beginning of the legend to which he gives continuity, the Son of Santo admits that there are projects, plans and work, much work, which nevertheless does not satisfy him because it wanted to see the personage that incarnates, again in the mind and heart of the Mexicans. And he admits that it would like that Santo returned to the great screen, which has prevented it the lack of an suitable project, that can call the attention of the Mexican public.

“If there were good cinema of free fight, safe he would have acceptance, but there is no it until now, I believe that he is a little forgotten, but can grow much with a good proposal”, trusted the pancracista that despite mentioned that it has a possible project to film in 2005 under the baton of Alfonso Arau.

Later in the article, it mentioned they were planning to put the ‘toon on DVD and offer it in Latin America, Australia, Japan, and England. (Hey, no fair!)
