Though the DVDVR guys didn’t dig his IWRG action, Veneno is cool, at least to me. Probably because 90% of the times I’ve seen him in CMLL, he’s either acting universally goofy in a sketch, or he’s wrestling in a match with Pierroth (which makes you seem more dynamic in comparision.)
He’s getting a decent coverage in Ovaciones today – here’s his interview talking about the match and his faction with Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro and Scorpio – because he’s got a title match tonight in Arena Naucalpan.
IWRG 01/13/05 (THU) Arena Naucalpan (KrisZ)
1) Sibelius vs Rey Estruendo
2) Colt Master & Ultra Mega vs Caballero Azteca & Macho II
3) Avisman/Micke Segura/Star Boy vs Cerebro Negro/Dr. Cerebro/Paramedico
4) Matrix [c] vs Veneno for the IWRG Intercontinental Middleweight Championship
5) Black Dragon/Dos Caras/Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Fuerza Guerrera/Hijo del Canek/Negro Casas
Can someone smarter to me explain the deal with CMLL and IWRG? Is IWRG considered by CMLL a second tier promotion, and that’s why CMLL workers are free to work there? Their undercards are vastly different, but their main events wouldn’t look too out of place on non-Arena Mexico CMLL card.
Other News: AAA’s starting up again on 2/4, and Tinieblas Jr. may be joining them. He’s been seen around their offices.
CMLL confirmed that Perro Aguayo will return…at some point. I think someone’s taking the Coliseo season off, but what do I know.
