Been thinking about this some more. Xposted to LuchaWorld (and if we get to a ballot, I’ll probably stick it a few more people to hopefully get some votes.)
How the time period is set up affects everything to some extent, not just the best matches. You may think someone else is best wrestler, best rudo, worst whatever, depending on what matches you see. Right now, for all of us who don’t take trips to Mexico (mysterious or otherwise), we’re basing our Best Of picks on ten months of the year.
The two logical options I can think of are
1) base everything on what you saw in ’04, and allow the lagged stuff to count as ’05
(possible addition: matches taped in ’04 and not aired outside of Mexico till ’05 may be given double eligibility – if you saw ’em ’04, you can vote for them in ’04 and you can vote them again in ’05)
2) Wait till March, when at least all of the 2004 CMLL footage should’ve aired (if someone can figure out the AAA airing pattern, that’d be sweet because it’s all Hindi to me), and do awards then.
I think 2 might be more accurate, but I think 1 might work better in practice. I could be swayed either way.
What do you think?

I’d say option 1 and use the Galavision year since I probably won’t be able to remember in three months.
I like the first option. Telelatino/Galavision in the last half of the year were fairly similar in airdates so going by their schedule would probably be best. There haven’t been a ton of rematches this year so sorting out which match is which won’t be too much of a pain.
I’d go with #1 also. Not that many people will vote anyways but if you wait till March, the few random fans who want to vote will just think it’s a waste of time since 2005 is already 1/4th done.

Oh, and AAA is pretty much also 2 months behind. Sometimes a little less but never closer than a month and a half.
