Old: This Friday’s Arena Mexico show is in the period, but since we probably won’t be seeing until next year and voting ends 12/01/04, it won’t matter. Eying the upcoming list, Zumbido/Averno and Park/Ultimo would seem like good bets to make this list if they air complete, and I’d expect at least one of the Santo vs Perro trios matches to make 85.
I’ve also grabbed some tapes of stuff GALA skipped and hope to watch them soon: #124 (GdI vs Shocker/Park – the knee injury one), and the Park/Guerrero Guadalajara match, both of which I expect will make this list.
Still, only two matches at 90 or above makes for a poor year. Big step down from previous years, as a result of no hot worker feud dominating TV (even the Mexican Trios stuff was a step down from the Havana/Marvin/Virus/Volador stuff) and losing thirty minutes of undercarders or more complete matches. All the 85-89 matches says there was a lot of good stuff, but they needed a little more to make it memorable.
I’ll update this as warranted, and try to overlay with the best matches of the calendar year.
