I was going to try do a consective days with posts piece, but it didn’t quite last.
Quickly, to stop my headache.
The Big News: As aforementioned, the Anniversary main event has been changed to a four way: Canek vs Dr. Wagner vs Universo 2000 vs Rayo de Jalisco. No word on the setup. I’m still betting on a tag match.
Per usual, I have no inside information on this, but the common guess is they sold a bunch of tickets, someone got cold feet about dropping the mask, and so they had to rush add their other mask/mask feud to ensure an ending.
This doesn’t look a planned switch, because Canek was in a midcard match previously, being programming against Pierroth, not Wagner. And if you’re selling tickets well with Rayo/Universo, why would you throw in Canek and Wagner unless you had to?
At least the corner people should be obvious – Black Warrior and Black Tiger.
There wasn’t anything particularlly huge to build this up, just your normal mask ripping and a eureka idea. Results aren’t even up on CMLL’s page yet, though the anniversary site page has been updated with the new lineup.
The updated tercera is now Atlantis, Mascara Sagrada and Blue Panther vs Tarzan Boy, Pierroth, Vampiro. No word why Niebla’s no longer getting a pay day.

Mephisto and Averno both have singles titles, which has caused me to make tons of lame E&C jokes.
