Quick notes on this week’s show
It was #147, skipping a week again and annoying me quite a bit. I kinda figured it out when they had Garza do the opening bit, since he wasn’t on my list for this show.
Opener was Canek/Rayo/Warrior vs Wagner/Tiger/Universo, a rematch of a match from the previous week, but still non-title. Prematch, warrior and Rayo talked about the match in the gym. Rayo floats an idea about him vs Universo going mask/mask here, though one supposes he says that everytime he thinks of Universo.
Champions bring their belts to the ring. Wagner is wearing the UWA Heavyweight Title to the win, I believe. Universo actually doesn’t have his belt.
1) Rudo beatdown.
(break)
2) Beatdown -> comeback
Warrior uses his stage run dive to turn it around. Warrior seemed to get hurt on a tope. His hip hit the seats hard.
3) Tecnicos win 1-1 encounters, triple tecnico pins
Mask ripping match.
Pierroth and Tarzan have a discussion/argument about who’s side Hector Garza is on. Pierroth doesn’t like him. Tarzan does.
Main event is Pierroth/Garza/Tarzan vs Shocker/Perro/Negro.
This is Garza’s US TV debut on this side; he might be on 146. After Tarzan’s entrance, Vampiro limps out on crutches. He’s got works and a shove for Pierroth, but it looks he’s still friends with Tarzan and trying to be friends with Hector. Perro is visibly unhappy with his partners and they’re trying to talk him out of doing something to them.
1) Rudo beatdown
Vampiro watches the beatdown from the apron, than turns to leave, passing Negro on the ramp in the process and having some words. Negro opts to follow him, mocking the limp, and gets attached by Tarzan. Vampiro turns around to smile on his way out.
Tarzan/Hector double crab on Shocker finishes it.
Flash back to Hector’s debut and win last week.
2) Pierroth will beat down Perro on his own, but he won’t help Hector do it. Meanwhile, Negro and Perro are having a shoving match. Negro and Shocker try to make a comeback by themselves with Perro no where to be seen. He shows up later to beat down Pierroth. One on one sequence after it settles down, Shocker beating Garza, and Perro stealing both Negro’s move and pin to beat Tarzan Boy. Boos for that.
Shocker looks like he’s slightly bleeding from the head. Pierroth and Tarzan have another loud discussion.
3) Shocker has to pull Perro away from the rowdy section and back to the match. Perro gets in the ring, sees Hector on the other side, listens to the crowd booing and – clip. We get a Shocker/Pierroth sequence, leading to Perro being reluctant to come back in when asked by Shocker. Fans boo Perro throughout, and later, Casas trips him up when he goes for the top rop double stomp so he can get the pin himself, using the double stomp. Tecnicos win.
Perro and Negro want to go at after the match, but Negro changes his mind and walks off. Perro (sarcastically) claps for the crowd before leaving.
That’s it. Becuase things were teased but nothing actually happened, this is missable show. The next show in line has stuff that actually happens. Neither match was above average.
