CMLL on Toma Libre

I don’t know what my life would be without the NJPW-LA dojo, but I imagine it would suck a lot more.

Remember how the Toma Libre guy pulled a cameo last week? It was part of a special on CMLL Toma Libre was taping, apparently, because they aired an hour of stuff with that show and other random wacky bits. It’s wacky humor show.

There was a lot with Casas that included the host and Casas hitting each other with a metal tray (and a bunch of home stuff as he prepared for a match), and the same with Ultimo Guerrero that included the host getting choked out and Ultimo with a blurred face, and lots of interviews with fans. I got NONE of it – lots of talking in Spanish isn’t very helpful but to remind me that I know twelve words of Spanish. At least I remembered to turn on closed captioning, since I can read Spanish better than I can hear it. Which is true for all languages but that’s another story.

There sure was a lot of swearing. Old people swearing. Young people swearing. Wrestlers swearing. Announcers swearing. Three year old kids swearing. I’m sure I’d be deeply offended if, again, I had an idea what was going on and new more than one swear.

Negro Casas’s daughters have nice looking fake cloth belts. His kids were in the crowd, but no one taped them while Negro was being hit over the head with a chair to near death, which was a nice change of pace. Toma Libre guy did get in a fight with the rudo bell ringer and the crazy tecnico section yelled at him too. So he was universally hated, always good. Ultimo took his daughter to school, which must be cool.

Anyway, while there were neat pictures and stuff, and a wacky skits featuring one of the show’s cronies challenging people on the street to impromptu wrestling matches (which was fun just to see how freaked out some people were – apparently there are no laws in Mexico against such things), it’s not something you missed by me not reminding to tell you about it. I’ll keep it on the TiVo if wants a copy.
