March 19th, CMLL will hold “Tribute to Two Legends” at Arena Mexico. The legends? Santo (I) and Salavador Lutteroth (founder of CMLL).
The match that’s be signed for the show so far is Hijo de Perro Aguayo/Terrible vs Cien Caras/Mascara 2000, hair/hair, which is a result of the Aguayo/Guapos vs Capos feuding of late. While I’m not going guess a winner (well, yet), I would assume that the outcome of the match will say a lot about Perro Aguayo Sr.’s future; if they really are still building to an Aguayo/Universo rematch, Capos will take this one.
CMLL.com floats a couple ideas around for a second big match. Rey Bucanero is mentioned as being back within days and still considering himself a tag team champion, so there’s a GdI/Park/Shocker rematch looming at some time. As an alternate idea, the company site also notes that 3/19 is almost a year to date of the last Shocker/Vampiro hair/hair match, and Vampiro wasn’t getting along this week when teaming with Shocker. (Somehow, they have news about the show up, but no results. Eh.)
This is me just pulling something out of thin air, but – CMLL.com also has a bit about young guys being prominetly involved in the 3/19 show, and it’s the show is a tribute to Santo AND we haven’t had a Leyenda de Plata Cibernetico in some time, so…
In actual news, Olimpico didn’t get along with partners Felino and Virus last week in Arena Mexico – so he’s apparently decided to join the rudos. He’ll be teaming with Crazy and Zumbido, taking on the Mexican Trios champions Volador, Sagrado and Safari this week in a non-title match.
The main events in Arena Mexico are the usual riffs off the last few weeks action – Vampiro/Shocker/Park vs Ultimo/Tarzan/Warrior in a rematch from last week, Aguayo/Terrible/Negro (playing the part of Mascara Magica) vs Universo/Mascara 2K/Apolo.
Arena Coliseo Wednesday’s main event this week will be a Satanico (c)/Mepshito CMLL Welterweight Title match, as that feud continues to be featured outside of Arena Mexico. Coliseo de Puebla has an intriguing Blue Panther vs Ultimo Guerrero (c) match for the CMLL LH Title on Monday. And tommorow’s Guadalajara’s main event is Terrible vs Tarzan Boy.
CMLL Recap #114 is up, featuring Virus’ SL Title win and Atlantis vs Perro for the Tohoku JR Heavyweight Title.
