AmDragon in CMLL?

trying to hype up Guadalajara shows more (the results are not listed on CMLL.com)…

I think I meant “now”. Because they are there now – go to http://www.cmll.com/resultados.html, scroll all the way to the bottom and check ’em out. Unlike the photos for Arena Mexico (and formerly for Arena Coliseo), they’ve got pencil sketches that may or may not actually depict the action. The results are more prose than press release, which is always nifty. Averno did not win the Welterweight Title, as obvious from Mephisto’s mentioned challenge. I’m almost getting the impression that the Infernales broke up because they’d get more main events that way.

This isn’t NJPWBlog, but it’s an interesting note that American Dragon and Heat will be in the US on 3/6 for a NJPW-US Toukon 2 show (as are CMLL irregulars Nosawa, Masada and Bobby Quance so far.) Dragon was speculated to be visiting CMLL in the spring, and since he’ll be on the next NJPW tour and the one after that, if he was actually going to be in Mexico City, it’d probably work best logisitcally for him to go around the time he’s in LA. That means he either shows up the next two weeks (2/27, 3/5, assuming he’s working Arena Mexico), as he’s scheduled back in Japan on 3/12.

Which is a long winded saying either you hear about AmDragon showing up soon, or file Danielson’s appearance with Lyger’s speculated match last in the pile of intersting rumors that never materalized.

Eh, this post sucked. Scroll down and read Joe’s. How we end up posting in the same half hour, I dunno.

The FIX is in…

A few news and notes:

Interesting result from 2/17 at Area Coliseo. Mephisto beat Satanico in a four way match (Averno & Negro Casas were the other two participants). After the match, Mephisto challenged Satanico to a CMLL Welterweight Title match.

I can’t find the result, but I’ll go out on a limb and say el Santo kept his mask in the mascara contra mascara match against Hijo del Cobarde. Here’s a (slightly outdated) look at Santo’s history in stip matches.

The Do FIXER stable (Magnum TOKYO, Genki Horiguchi, Ryo Saito, Susumu Yokosuka, and K-NESS) from Toryumon will be coming in sometime in May to do some work for EMLL. Not sure how many shows they’re doing, but they’re also working for Toryumon Mexico and IWRG.

In the most mind boggling match in a while, at the 2/13 XLUM show in Tijuana, the main event was a ladder match between Black Tiger, Dr. Wagner, and Pierroth Jr. Yes, Pierroth in a ladder match. Even better, there was $5000 in US money suspended over the ring. Black Tiger ended up winning only to be attacked by Nicho and Rey Mysterio Sr. Wagner made the save.

I leave with with a quote from this week’s Figure Four Weekly:

“Pierroth announced he would be forming his own his own university to compete with Shocker’s Guapo University. I can only imagine the folks that would choose Pierroth’s school over Shocker’s.”
