Next week is not only a PPV week (which means 50 means of hype and a wonderful Matt Striker/Rene Dupree match to top it off), but also a (unbilled) Super Show taping, so the second to last Velocity is a clip show. It sure would be a great time to show the Best Of Velocity, but somehow I don’t think so.

I feel smart for figuring out they’re taping something early Monday, and dumb for not realizing it before.

Do you think they’ll mark the end of Velocity or Heat with anything more than a last segment mention? Me neither. I don’t really plan to either.

  1. Continuing our saga of pointlessness: it seems you may have been onto something with the wwe.com matches, or you may not have.

WON: “David Lagana is now producing Byte This and working more with the website. He’s trying to get more website action through Smackdown, such as the idea of doing the Keibler vs. Hemme lingerie pillow fight that was eliminated from television. … Even though Heat and Velocity are being cancelled at the end of the month, they are expected to continue to tape to a few extra matches at the TV tapings, perhaps for DVD exclusives, since the production equipment is already there and it serves as prelims to get fans in their seats before the big shows start taping. Still, another round of cuts is expected before the end of the month.”
