Baker indicated he’s open to a platoon with Matt Lawton and Matt Murton in the outfield.

Let me tell you, I was shocked and amazed Dusty would consider such a thing. I was more amazed when I read the Tribune.

Baker said he would try to get Murton at-bats, but he doesn’t plan to platoon him with Matt Lawton, as he did with Todd Hollandsworth.

HUH. That would seem to be exactly opposite. Third opinion!

SunTimes:

“Murton is going to play against some left-handers,” Baker said.

Which isn’t really as definite. Daily Herald says the same. Daily SouthTown didn’t feel this was worth mentioning, whatever it was.

I think I’m best ignoring all of this, and just presmuing Murton will play down the stretch, but no more than Grieve, Cedeno or Gerut did – and he’ll be sent down in a week or two when Corey returns.
