Recap is up. Akio vs Paul London is a match definetly worth seeking out.

2 things I took from the newest Justice League

1) There’s nothing in DC history they’re not willing to make seem very cool to the television audience. An episode fitting in the extra Superfriends and being very good? That takes some effort

It’s weird having the JL and the Adult Swim reimagine the same characters in such compeltely different ways.

2) Knowing very little about the DC mythos, I can still tell they’ve laid the ground work for huge things to break down at some point. If JLU is the end show of their “universe”, everything.

It was weird how the 1st act teaser ended with the Ultimen making the save, and the actual 1st act started with the magma guys still in charge.

  1. That was the best Joshocity match since Noble…London!

But I’m sure that’s just some sort of crazy coincidence Since Cruisers Will Never Get Over and whatnot.

  2. I was there. You may know that. If you read non-TNM WV stuff. That match was awesome. The crowd wanted to hate it, and eventually accepted it. I…apologize for the state of Virginia.

  3. Yeah, the London-Akio match was very, very good. Best Free TV Match in a while.

And about JLU, it was so-so, but I laughed at Batman’s line “Mine are bigger than yours.”

  4. I’m disappointed though that they seemed to have dropped the Chavo’s friend storyline. I was looking forward to see who the friend was.

  5. Best line from JLU: “OH poop.”

Since Dwayne McDuffie has said that Waller is coming back, that more than likely means a JLU appearance from the Suicide Squad. :>

As for the Velocity match, London had some Flair/Benoit quality hamburger chest action.

  6. Getting caight in the ropes looked like a ticket to spinal fusion city, but thankfully all seemed well the rest of the way. Nice to see Bill come around and give some praise.
