Two days away. Or less by the time you read this.
I’m having more trouble getting excited for this show than I thought; it’s not that I’m not really interested in seeing lucha in person, it’s that I don’t know what’s going to be on there – well, not that even. I kinda figure the lineup will be
– minis match
– comedy match
– star match
(Mucha Lucha’s blog has a recent review, noting the similar pattern to their shows.)
with the comedy and the stripping in between, but I think I’d be more interested if I actually had a lineup; Chicago Wrestling has Felino, Super Parka and Felino scheduled to appear (and Misterioso just did an interview, so him too), but it’s tough to be excited about X vs Y when you don’t know who’s facing who.
Which I guess is the deal with LLV; it’s not so much the matches but the event they’re selling you, opposite of most every other wrestling promotion. Hope I can get in the right mood.
The one thing I am surelylooking forward is the merchandise stand; I hope they’ve brought a big selection of masks so I can buy things I’ll never actually use. Anyone want a Tineblas mask?
I’m debating if I want to drive or take trains to Park West
PRO CAR
– will take a lot less time
– easier to randomlly stop on the way home
CON CAR
– car still slightly busted
– no idea about parking
– recent tendency to get tremendously lost
(mitagating factor: by sheer concidence, recently borrowed a IL state map!)
PRO TRAIN
– Trains are cool
– Lesser chance of an accident
– Better chance of an odd incident on the way there
– harder to get lost
– can write on the way home
CON
– Better chance of an odd incident on the way there (could go either way!)
– still possible to get lost
– will take a lot longer to get home
– if I don’t get to Union Station by 12:30am, stuck in the city till 6am
– harder to transport masks
I dunno. I guess I’ll make this and other huge decisions tommorow.
holy nuts – i might actually get to meet THE CUBS FAN~!
When is the last time you checked to make sure the show is on? The Cleveland show for Thursday got cancelled and the Toronto one…well…I can’t buy my tickets online and nobody has heard anything about the show in ages, including the site it’s supposed to be hold at.:\
Rob
This is OT but what did you think of the ESSA RIOS reference on RAW in Trish’s video package??
Corrado
Ticketmaster says Lucha Va Voom is still on for Park West – and it’s got the canceled Cleveland date, so hopefully it’s up to date. I feel better I checked.
I marked out for the Essa Rios mention, but the whole segment was well done, what with Lita getting mad not about the dead baby riff but mocking donuts!
Toronto show just got cancelled. I’d be careful and check with the venue first before making a trip for no reason tomorrow.
